Tanner Riggs

Owner

Tanner Riggs was born and raised in Mesa & Gilbert and attended Higley High School. After high school, he served a two-year mission for his church where he learned Spanish. This has been very helpful in his professional career as it allows him to develop strong connections with the install crews. He attended college after his mission, earning an associate's degree in Business Management and a bachelor's degree in Business Entrepreneurship at ASU. GO SUN DEVILS! 

Tanner currently lives in Gilbert with his wife Edna and their dog Archie. He enjoys watching and playing sports, camping, riding UTVs, and taking his wife dancing. 

At 15, Tanner began his career in construction, working for family friends, and spent most of the rest of his career in various construction fields. This has given him a vast knowledge of the trades. He began working as the Lead Project Manager at Gila Floor Coverings in 2017. After graduating from ASU, he became a partner/owner. He has a passion for growing the business and knows that is best achieved by making his customers happy. 

Tanner prides himself on his work and strives to provide the best quality for his clients. His motto is “Do things right, and do them right away.” He brings that attitude to Gila Floor Coverings, and it helps make every project the best it can be. You will know that Tanner cares about your project when you work with him.

Chase Merrell

Owner

Chase grew up in the farming communities of the Gila Valley in Arizona, where he learned the value of hard work and the importance of a strong community. 

After serving a mission for his church in Brazil, Chase returned to his hometown and proposed to his wife, Jalin on the family farm on the  Gila River in Duncan AZ. 

Shortly after they were married, Chase and Jalin moved to Mesa where their first daughter, Paisley was born in 2012. That same year they started a small flooring company they would name Gila Floor Coverings. 

During those early years, Chase leaned on the lessons he learned early in life of working hard and surrounding himself with great people.  From experienced mentors to skilled installers, he built not only a business, but a support system that would help the company thrive. 

In 2017 Tanner, who would later become Chase’s business partner joined their team and helped Gila Floor Coverings grow into what it is today. 

Now, Chase and Jalin live on Jalin’s family farm with their 4 daughters Paisley, Bentley, Remington and Dakota.
